dsc09358Mixxed Fit is an after school dance program
for all middle school girls. This new dance program, taught by Mrs. Hall, encourages girls to work out and dance to their favorite songs. Even if you aren’t a dancer, you can still have a good time dancing with your friends and learning some new, popular moves!

In this program, girls can learn how to dance and have a good workout, without the big equipment! The dances moves are energetic and include boot camp toning that are easy for everyone to do.

“It [Mixxed Fit] was a really fun and an awesome thing to experience! I can’t wait for another dance session,” said Amara B.

The dance moves are simple enough for the average person to learn. Since dance moves at Mixxed Fit aren’t complex and routines are full of repetition, anyone can catch on quickly. The class is open for girls who are hoping to learn some dance moves, strengthen their bodies and get some physical activity.

Mrs. Hall operates the program after school on Mondays. She is a certified teacher who teaches at Dale City Recreation Center, and events throughout the DMV area including this month at the National Harbor.  If you would like your family to try, it is offered FREE every Wednesday in front of the big Ferris wheel at National Harbor from 7-8, but layer up as it is getting cold!!

“I’ve been instructing fitness for over 20 years in several different capacities. Mixxed Fit is popular because it is people inspired, so we use music that participants would hear on the radio, and keep moves simple enough so anyone can do them!” said Mrs. Hall.

The program is an hour long, and it is held in the middle school hallway in front of the 7th and 8th grade locker bays. Be sure to dress in clothes that are easy to move in, such as gym shorts, sweatpants, t-shirts, and sneakers. Bring a water bottle, and a towel as you will definitely work up a sweat!

The first class was held on Monday, Oct. 17th. Make sure to sign up during your lunch period and bring some friends.dsc09282
