The Medallion

Emily B
Emily B. is an eighth grader who is passionate about dance. Much of her time out of school is spent babysitting and dancing while juggling homework late at night. She works hard at Dance Zone three times a week. The activity is something she wants to pursue in her life. The classes she attends include ballet, tap, musical theatre, and pointe. Emily auditioned and was accepted into the Joffrey Summer Intensive Program for ballet with a scholarship for the Jazz Program as well. She is excited to be in New York for this great experience. One defining moment  in her life was when she helped out with autistic students in her elementary school. After this experience, it has given her empathy towards others, as well as helping her to be patient and supportive. This caring, loud, and passionate girl, as she describes herself, would love to have her last words be: Don’t let others define who you are.
